![]() Thank you for your interest in my writing. I am a freelance journalist and frequent contributor to the San Francisco Chronicle. I have also written for OnEarth magazine, the Washington Post, and the Prairie Writers Circle. Many of my articles center on agriculture and how it serves as the primary point of interaction between human nature and nature at large. I’ve written about getting the lead out of urban gardens, about planting season on Community Supported Agriculture farms, and about whether to eat genetically-modified crops. I’ve interviewed a gopher trapper, tracked excess potatoes from field to food bank, and calculated the rate at which the California salad bowl is shrinking. I believe that how we feed ourselves largely determines who we are as individuals, as a society, and as a species. I also write about agriculture for the fun of it: about women ranchers who button coats on their sheep to protect their wool, about sharing an office with a chicken, about the sex lives of pumpkins. I look forward to hearing your stories,
